The latter half of March saw a large number of immigration applications and permit applications.
First, a permanent residency application was approved. With the hurdles for all applications rising since October of last year, the client was extremely pleased that the application was approved. It seems the client had almost given up hope, so when the staff told them the approval, they looked quite surprised. It seems their hard work—paying taxes diligently, avoiding any violations, coming to Japan for 10 years, and working for 5 years—has paid off.
Three individuals joining in April had their applications for change from student status to work status approved.
Their nationalities are Australian, Chinese, and Indonesian.
Another person has also applied for a change of status, but since the request came in March, the result is not yet available. It is a change from student status to work status.
We also handled three applications for Certificate of Eligibility to bring individuals from overseas to Japan. Although they were from different companies, the requests came in March, so it was unlikely they could be hired by April 1st. Nevertheless, for small and medium-sized enterprises that don’t receive applications from Japanese students, applications from highly qualified foreign talent are extremely valuable. We handled everything carefully to ensure approval.
We also handled one application for extension of residence status.
